There is nothing better than being able to discuss together as a community. As with any community, there are rules; these rules dictate what is regarded as generally accepted behaviour, and going against them can result in your account being banned.

You can find some of these rules below:
  • DO NOT use derogatory terms in discussions.
  • DO NOT place product placements unless in the appropriately created discussion category.
So long as you abide by these rules, feel free to discuss all you want. Cheers!

  • Hello, fairly new here by comments but registered long time with zero activity but things are picking up now. Just want to know how my activities will fit in tightly with this platform. I provide vocational training on small food business management to men and women in Kano. Post training business development service is one of the benefits participants gain from us and would like to link up with smedan for collaboration. If possible how, thank you.

    Hello IJ, welcome on board.
Getting a business idea isn't that difficult. Am sure you must have nutured some in your mind but a good one to start with would be to examine your self critically.
    1. What are you good at dooing?
    2. What skills do you have?
    3. Can the skills you be commercialize?
    4. Who are the competitors in your location?
    5. Do you think you can do better than them?
If you have answers to these few questions, then I think you'll have a good business and you are good to pursue it.
Feel free to ask more questions please.

    Hello Yusuf,
. I am also currently struggling to boost sales, I did little research and discovered a few secret that can help .
    1. Pricing:
This is a very powerful tool in every business. I Dont know if there are other competitors within your location and if they tend to more customers than you do. If yes, then you will need to consider doping a promo, to slash your price and at the same time keeping the quality of your product intact.

    1. Pricing:
This is a powerful tool in every business. Research on competitors around you, know their prices and review your own price and see if you can slash your price a little lower than your competitors.

    1. Repackaging or Rebranding:
Customers tend to loose interest so easily in a particular product. So if possible you will need to rebrand your product.
      i. Your product presentation, have to change
ii. Taste have to be improved upon
iii. If possible, look into your recipes if there is any one to add, replaced or increase to give a more soothing and tasteful Liza.

    1. Value Added Service:
Think of an additional service you can render alongside the Pisa
(e.g fruit drinks, soft drinks, free home delivery if possible, )

    2. Customer appreciation:
You need to do everything possible to keep your old customers by constantly giving them a free Pisa if possible at least during every festive periods.
(You can do this by creating a ticket for your customers, then do a raffle draw to get the winner for the free Liza or just easily go through your sales book to get the highest paid customers to be appreciated.

Another thing you need to do is to come up with a customer feed back form.
You give your customers this form to fill and should inform you on areas of your service they want you to improve upon. By so doing, this will give you an insight on how to satisfy your customer

    Hello Abdullahi,
It's so difficult to get help in this country, no one is ready to help anybody, so be your own mentor and get inspired by your hand work.

But I will advise to upload and market your products online.
Make good use of the internet and social media networks to sell your products.
Make a list of schools around you that you can visit and sell your services to.
Make a catalogue of some of the uniforms you have done and send letter or proposals to the schools with your catalogue.
Or you can as well send soft copy pictures of your work to the schools email address.
Another thing is to have a website for your company.

Also read through all my response to other members in this forum which I think can also help you.

    Hello Alj. Yakasai,
I know Bank of Industry provide loan to support business in production, but I Dont know if you would qualify for the requirements since you are in the training sector .

But I will advise you look up the Bank of Industry criteria and requirement on their website.

Smedan is another good option and I think you should also check their requirements and criteria on their website as well.

    Hope this information is helpful.

Hello Mosunmola, talking on body care organic products, are these locally produced here in nigeria? If yes, then you can look up to the next GTB SME Fashion Show, to exhibit your products of which am sure will be a great way to boost your products awareness and sales.

Are your herbal medicines regulated by NAFDAC?,
Do you have good packaging for the products?
(Like other popular herbs around )
If yes, then there are so many ways you can sell your products online as long as the business is registered, regulated by the government and medically certified for human consumption and it actually cures the acclaimed illness and diseases.
I will be willing to help in any capacity I can.
